Who this policy covers

ApprovedByAnders is operated by 1580299 B.C. LTD., the organization accountable for the personal information collected through this website. Anders Ponton is a representative of Go Kia Richmond, VSA dealer #50655, at 5660 Minoru Blvd, Richmond, British Columbia, which arranges the vehicle sale and financing. This policy explains what personal information is collected through this website, why it is collected, who it is shared with, and how you can access or withdraw it. It applies to every form, application and enquiry submitted here.

Information we collect

Through the application form we collect the information you provide directly: the vehicle type you are shopping for, your self-described credit situation, employment status, estimated monthly income, postal code, full name, date of birth, email address, phone number, and your preferred contact time.

We may also collect technical information automatically, such as your IP address, browser type, device, referring page and pages viewed, through standard web analytics and advertising measurement tools.

AI chat conversations

This site offers an AI assistant called CARVIS as an alternative to the application form. CARVIS is software, not a person. When you use it, the messages you send and the assistant's replies are transmitted to and stored on our servers, and are processed by a third-party artificial-intelligence service in order to understand your answers and assemble the same application details the form collects — such as your name, phone number, the vehicle you are after, your employment and income situation, and when you would like a callback.

Information you give the assistant is handled exactly the same way as information you type into the application form: it is stored under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA and BC's Personal Information Protection Act), used to assess and arrange vehicle financing, and shared with the same lenders and Go Auto dealerships described elsewhere in this policy. No credit report is requested from anything you say in chat; a credit request only happens after you consent to it as part of an application.

If you verify your phone number in the chat, that verification is the point at which you consent to be contacted, and the wording shown to you at that moment, its version, and the time you completed it are recorded with your enquiry. You can ask us to delete a chat conversation, or withdraw contact consent at any time, by replying STOP to a text or emailing aponton@goauto.ca.

Consent to obtain and share credit information

By submitting an application you expressly consent to Anders Ponton, Go Kia Richmond, Go Auto and the lenders and financial institutions they work with obtaining a consumer credit report and credit score about you from a credit reporting agency such as Equifax Canada or TransUnion Canada, and to those parties exchanging your application and credit information with each other for the purpose of assessing and arranging vehicle financing.

A credit report request made in connection with a financing application is a hard inquiry and may affect your credit score. If you only want to know where your credit stands, use a soft-check pre-qualification tool instead of submitting an application.

Consent to be contacted

By submitting an application you consent to being contacted by phone, text message and email about your application, financing options and vehicle availability, including by automated means, in accordance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation. Message and data rates may apply. You can withdraw contact consent at any time by replying STOP to a text, using the unsubscribe link in an email, or emailing aponton@goauto.ca.

How we use your information

Your information is used to assess your financing application, match it to lenders most likely to approve your situation, communicate with you about your application, arrange a vehicle, meet legal and regulatory obligations, and improve this website. We do not sell your personal information.

Who we disclose it to

Your application information may be disclosed to Go Kia Richmond and other Go Auto dealerships, Go Auto's in-house Yes Plan financing, third-party lenders and financial institutions, credit reporting agencies, insurers where applicable, and service providers who host or support our systems. Service providers may store or process information outside British Columbia or Canada, where it may be accessible to foreign courts and law enforcement.

Advertising and analytics

This website uses cookies and measurement tools, including Meta's Pixel and similar advertising technologies, to understand how visitors find and use the site and to measure advertising performance. These tools run by default when you visit; a notice at the bottom of the page tells you so and lets you opt out, and you can turn measurement off or back on at any time using the control below. No credit or income information and none of your application answers are ever sent to advertising platforms. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.

If you enter your contact details in an application, your email address, phone number, name, city, province and postal code are also shared with Meta in hashed form ("advanced matching"). Hashing scrambles these values in your browser before anything is sent; Meta uses the hashes only to match this site's ad activity against its own records and reports aggregate advertising results back to us. Opting out of measurement using the control below stops this sharing.

Meta's tools set cookies named _fbp and _fbc to recognize your browser and connect a visit to an ad you may have clicked. These cookies are covered by the same opt-out control, and you can delete or block them in your browser at any time.

Marketing messages are separate from all of the above. You will only receive offers and updates from us if you tick the optional marketing checkbox in the application; it is never required to apply. When you do, the exact wording shown, your choice and the time you made it are recorded, as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation, and you can withdraw that consent at any time by using an unsubscribe link, replying STOP to a text, or emailing aponton@goauto.ca.

Retention and safeguards

Application and credit information is retained only as long as necessary for the purposes described above and to satisfy legal, lender and tax record-keeping requirements, after which it is securely destroyed or anonymized. Access is limited to people who need it to process your application, and information is protected with administrative, physical and technical safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity.

Your rights: access, correction and withdrawal

You may request access to the personal information held about you, ask for corrections, or withdraw your consent to further use or disclosure at any time, subject to legal and contractual restrictions. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer process a financing application for you. Requests can be sent to aponton@goauto.ca and will be answered within the timelines set by applicable privacy law.
